Installing Pivotal GemFire
This section describes how to install Pivotal GemFire.
If your operating system is macOS, you can install Pivotal GemFire from a Homebrew package.
For Windows, Solaris and all other Linux users, use the ZIP distribution to install and configure Pivotal GemFire on every physical and virtual machine where you will run Pivotal GemFire. You can also use .tar.gz file on Linux distributions.
You can use Maven to add Pivotal GemFire to your Java project build.
Many open source licenses require that vendors who use or modify their libraries make that code available. GemFire provides these libraries as a downloadable .zip file.
