Installing Pivotal GemFire
This section describes how to install Pivotal GemFire.
When you install a new version of GemFire software on an existing GemFire system, keep the previous version available until the system upgrade has been completed and verified.
For Windows, Solaris and all other Linux users, use the ZIP distribution to install and configure Pivotal GemFire on every physical and virtual machine where you will run Pivotal GemFire. You can also use the compressed TAR file on Linux distributions.
If your operating system is macOS, you can install Pivotal GemFire from a Homebrew package.
You can use Maven to add Pivotal GemFire to your Java project build.
